I-Step Up, Incedo’s Women Network was launched on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2017 at its Gurgaon innovation centre. An open panel discussion brought together distinguished women from varied professional backgrounds to share their experiences, challenges faced and their winning moment at both personal and professional front.
The network’s objective is to enable and empower women to succeed. Through I-Step Up, we are creating a unique platform to have conversations about achieving professional and personal goals while defining individual triumphs. Our ambition is to build a supportive community that commits women to helping each other and unlock their true potential.
The forum concluded with an interactive Q&A session between the panelists and the audience.
Key takeaways at the forum were:
- How women continue to deal with challenges related to gender biases and gender stereotyping. The flipside however is not to fall in the trap of using your gender unfairly.
- The importance of having mentors and role models who inspire you to grow. Our panellists spoke about how all of them are actively involved in mentoring women back to work after a long career break.
- Women should not feel guilty or have self-depleting beliefs when it comes to managing home and careers.
- Self-assertion is very important. Women should ask questions and make their presence felt. It’s important to talk and discuss your issues. Sometimes all women need to do is to ask.
- Make smart choices. More often than not women take up too much, which make them feel guilty for not meeting their own standards.

An economist by profession, Gunveena has worked with World Economic Forum, and has been engaged in various strategic growth projects of state governments.
